Your Best Cleaning Tips
Especially for allergy sufferers:
Scientific studies done on patients with allergies have
shown that taking steps to minimize dust mite allergens and mold allergens in
the home leads to a decrease in allergic symptoms and medication requirements.
With the proper care, Cinderella’s Cleaning can help you battle these allergens
and quickly improve your quality of life. Just think, no more sneezing, scratchy
throats, and itchy eyes when you want to relax at home. Here are some of the
cleaning steps we take to help eliminate these allergens, and when Cinderella’s
cleaners aren’t there, you can do it too!
- Do all dusting with a damp cloth. This will minimize
the distribution of dust through the air.
- Make sure to dust the areas of your home that
collect the most amount of dust: baseboards, blinds, nic nacs, pictures on
walls, lights, and fans!
- Wash your sheets in hot water at least once a week.
Hot water washing is necessary in order to kill the dust mites and remove
accumulated allergens.
- Don’t forget to clean the door knobs and light
switches! Different people touch these multiple times a day with dirty hands.
A hot damp cloth with Mr. Clean on it is a good way to clean your door knobs
and light switches.
- Vacuum carpets on a daily basis with a vacuum cleaner
that has a good built in filtration system. If you have a bagless vacuum
cleaner, make sure to clean the filters on a regular basis. If you have
upholstered furniture, make sure to vacuum that too, it’s a big collector of
allergens.
The most efficient way to clean your house:
- Use a routine to clean. Start from top to bottom in
the room, and work your way right around the room. Start at the same place
every time and if you want, have a checklist so you do not miss anything.
- Always keep on hand antibacterial wipes and the Mr.
Clean magic eraser for quick cleaning and touch ups.
- Keep your cleaning supplies close at hand. For
instance, have them in a bucket or tote that you carry with you when you
clean. This way you don’t have to run all over the house to get the product
you need.
- When cleaning surfaces with an excess of hair, use a
dry tissue to grab as much as you can before using anything wet. When
sweeping, use circular motions and tap your broom after a few strokes to get
off extra hair.
